Using animated videos to spark intrigue
There’s nothing like a catchy animated video to share across social media platforms. Videos creatively engage users’ interests. In 2015, the UAE celebrated the ‘Year of Innovation,’ and 7G collaborated with both the government and private industries to inspire the younger generation to use their ingenuity to contribute to a more innovative society.
Our videos played a key role in this inspiring initiative. The fun, playful music of our initial video launched at the start of the campaign delighted audiences, both young and old. We used bright colours to captivate the senses. The text dances across the screen and artfully builds anticipation. While many people might consider ‘innovation’ to be the domain of rocket scientists, this spirited animated video, shared widely across the Internet, taught young people that they can be innovative with task of their daily routine and focusing on improving small processes. During the same 2015 campaign for the ‘Year of Innovation,” we created a video for the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) Innovation Challenge, which encouraged the audience to participate by entering their innovations into a competition. The competition was launched using an explainer video that shared the details of the competition and encouraged innovators to showcase their innovations for the public. The innovations we encouraged with this campaign included not only those in science and technology but in fashion, food, painting and any area where a person could add value to the society. This competition helped increasing interaction within the social media community of MBRSC and helped them reach a wider audience.
